The Project: Hexagon have partnered with our mining client to develop an autonomous haulage solution for a will deploy and operate a world-first fleet of 120 fully Autonomous Road Trains to carry ore 150km to the Port. The solution, which includes drive-by-wire technology and an autonomous management system, is a truck-agnostic, full-site solution designed to streamline vehicle movement in road-train haulage.

The Position: Reporting to Director Finance and Business Partner, we are looking for a Project Controller to join our Core Autonomy division in a full time permanent role based in Perth, Western Australia.  This role will see you as a critical business partner to our project, where your will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity, cost efficiency, and profitability of large scale, high value greenfield development program.

 

In this role you will partner cross functionally across a diverse multi- level stakeholder group as a trusted advisor where your focus will uphold and maintain budget, planning and forecast duties in alignment with company and project deliverables. In addition, you will support varied day to day requests, as well as ad hoc forecast or analysis activities to consult on trends, deviations and overall financial performance across short-, medium- and long-term objectives.

 

As part of a Hybrid team, within a matrix organisation your role will contribute to bringing cohesion and alignment across a multi-level stakeholder group, upholding key financial governance principals in balance with providing solutions and agility to the needs of the project and its stakeholders.

Qualifications

About you

We are looking for an experienced Project Account, Project Controller, Management Accountant CPA qualified with a diverse background across commercial and large-scale project landscapes. This role will offer you exposure to a growing and leading Technology development, working in partnership with a global team for a unique project leading autonomy for a leading Australian mining client. In addition, we are seeking those with the following skills or attributes.

 

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Tertiary qualified in Accounting or related field, with CA/CPA certifications
  • Strong command of financial analysis and project-specific financial tools, with experience in ERP systems and financial reporting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills for complex financial modelling, budget tracking, and data analysis, tailored to the unique aspects of the Road Trains project.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies to support project-specific cost control. Proven success in collaborating in a customer centric, solution focused engagement
  • Valid Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen

 

Competencies

  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to process complex project financials, providing insights specific to Road Trains’ project goals and challenges.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail, especially in handling high-stakes project finances.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong collaborative and communication skills for aligning with multiple stakeholders involved in the Road Trains project.
  • Adaptability: Flexible in managing evolving project requirements and timelines
