Overview

Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Production Quality Control Technician to join our team in Dowling, Ontario. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for testing electrical assemblies, equipment, and wiring to ensure proper performance and product quality. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to verify product compliance, identify and resolve deficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

As a Production Quality Control Technician you will be responsible for the following:

  • Test electrical assemblies, equipment, and wiring to verify proper performance and functionality.
  • Work with the Design team to understand and execute testing requirements.
  • Utilize testing devices such as meters, analyzers, and other equipment to test assemblies, components, and completed builds.
  • Compare completed products, parts, and assemblies to schematics to ensure quality assurance and product standardization.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards while working in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
  • Identify, document, and record product deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager, Quality Manager, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve product deficiencies.
  • Train new employees on work procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and testing procedures.
  • Maintain records of employee training.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and engineering documentation to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Ensure product quality requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Safely use hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Provide feedback and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting, and operational improvement projects.
  • Create and maintain assembly and testing manuals, and verify documentation for accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and established guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on production activities requiring manual dexterity.
  • Experience using hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify product quality issues.

Nice To Have:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience performing electrical or electronic product testing.
  • Experience creating or maintaining technical work instructions or testing documentation.
