Hexagon Autonomous Solution comprises of multiple divisions, providing a breadth of perception, positioning, vehicle autonomy and site orchestration technologies to enable the full autonomous solutions for the agriculture, mining, automotive and marine sectors.

 

The Project: Hexagon has partnered with our mining client to develop an autonomous haulage solution for a will deploy and operate a world-first fleet of 120 fully Autonomous Road Trains to carry ore 150km to the Port.  The solution, which includes drive-by-wire technology and an autonomous management system, is a truck-agnostic, full-site solution designed to streamline vehicle movement in road-train haulage. 

Responsibilities

The Position; Reporting to the Director of Program Management, we are looking for a Principal Project Manager to join our Hexagon Autonomous Road Train Business Unit as part of Hexagons Core Autonomy division.  The Principal Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of these complex projects—from initial concept through to final delivery—ensuring alignment with customer requirements, timelines, and budgets. Part of a global team, your role will be integral in driving project timelines, cross functional alignment as well as schedule and risk management activities where your ability to build cohesive working relations across a multi-function team will be crucial in driving key project objectives.

In addition it may not be limited to;

  • Create and manage complex project plans using Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), identifying critical paths and acceleration opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, consumables, and financial schedules using resource planning tools and historical data.
  • Identify and track project risks, deliverables, milestones, and dependencies across multiple projects
  • Contribute to the Project Management Office (PMO) to align processes across all active domains and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a peer reviewer for planning documents and provide critical path analysis

Qualifications

About you

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project/Program Manager with a successful career in delivering large scale technology deployments, with proven success in navigating complex engineering project environments.  In addition, we are looking for the following experience/skills.

  • Ideally a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ideally a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and/or CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification.
  • Experience with hybrid project management style incorporating both agile and waterfall methods
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels, translating complex engineering in risk and cost language.
  • Ideally proficiency with JIRA and project tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering or software projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and quality management systems.
