We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to join our manufacturing operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving production processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality standards. This role will play a critical part in driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing our operations to meet business goals.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in the oceanside community of Torrance, CA. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time and motion studies to establish labour standards and improve resource utilization
  • Monitor and analyze production data, using statistical tools to identify trends and drive fact-based decision making
  • Analyze inventory levels and compare demand to optimize inventory management
  • Design and implement optimized systems, layouts, and processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methods
  • Develop and maintain automated dashboards to ensure KPIs are accurate and adequate for decision making
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Engineer team to:
    • Analyze existing production processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in operations
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and automation solutions to improve operations; calculate and provide ROI data to facilitate decision making
    • Lead or participate in project management initiatives, including planning, execution, and monitoring of process improvement projects

Qualifications

Qualifications

Must Have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Skills and experience with business intelligence and data analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with process simulation software
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across the organization

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping
  • Experience with 3P workshops (Production Preparation Process)

Compensation & Benefits 

 

Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division provides the following compensation range and a general description of other compensation and benefits.  This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.  The Company reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range or offer other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state or federal law.  Our benefits and bonus plans are reviewed annually and are subject to change at the company’s discretion.  

 

Hiring Salary Range: $87,100 - $139,400.00 per annum

 

Bonus Eligibility:  We offer a company profit share and individual incentive-based bonus programs.
