Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for an embedded Sr. GNSS Tracking Engineer to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division, your work will contribute to the operation of our brands NovAtel, AutonomouStuff, VERIPOS and Antcom.

The Location: This position is a hybrid role based in Calgary, AB. 

Responsibilities

As part of our Tracking team, the Sr. Geomatics Tracking Engineer will:


• Apply signal processing theory to develop and enhance NovAtel’s industry-leading tracking algorithms for performance improvements, new features and special applications
• Collaborate across functional teams such as system, hardware, firmware, and R&D teams to deliver high quality, leading edge products.
• Work with product managers and system engineers to define functional and performance requirements
• Design, implement, and test software features for production releases and improve and maintain existing C++ software on our embedded systems
• Analyze test data using graphical and statistical tools and methods
• Engage with verification engineers to plan and support testing of software features
• Mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

Must-Have:


• Master or Ph.D Degree in geomatics engineering (preferred), electrical engineering, or a related technical field. 
• 8+ years of experience in GNSS software development or embedded navigation systems.
• Expertise in multi constellation (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) signals acquisition and tracking technology. 
• Strong knowledge in real time embedded C++ software development, debugging and troubleshooting
• Excellent understanding of software development life cycles and use of related tools (Jira, git, Jenkins or GitLab, design documentation, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions to others
