Hexagon Autonomous Solution comprises of three divisions: Agriculture, Autonomy & Positioning and Mining.

 

The Project: Hexagon has partnered with our mining client to develop an autonomous haulage solution for a will deploy and operate a world-first fleet of 120 fully Autonomous Road Trains to carry ore 150km to the Port.  The solution, which includes drive-by-wire technology and an autonomous management system, is a truck-agnostic, full-site solution designed to streamline vehicle movement in road-train haulage. 

Responsibilities

The Position; Reporting to the Site Verification & Validation Manager, in our development project team.  This role will see you work across multiple teams inclusive of product and field-based engineers, based locally & globally (USCA/LATM Europe) to ensure a cohesive validation and verification plan is establishedIn addition, your duties/responsibilities will include, not limited to;

 

Technical

  • Write autonomous site system validation and verification plans for site system features that require interconnection between multiple products
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance and robustness test strategies across product V&V teams
  • Integrate functional safety testing requirements into the overall autonomous site system V&V strategy

Operational

  • Contribute to V&V strategies and specific plans to ensure customer statement of work requirements are met.
  • Maintain documentation of verification and validation procedures, policies, test cases and reports.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and equipment needs for validation/testing.

Customer Service

  • Engage across development, deployment and customer project teams on project deliverables at varied levels
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders internal/external on project timelines, variations and deliverables.

Qualifications

About you

 

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer/Software Developer with background in AHS mining operations who can bring their knowledge and skills to a fast paced & dynamic project.   In addition, we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skill;

 

Technical

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experienced in product Verification & Validation based activities for mining or resource-based technology applications.

General

  • Creative and open-minded individual who fosters an environment in which sharing of ideas is encouraged
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to conduct validation studies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build cohesive and collaborative relations across a Multi-level stakeholder group
  • Valid Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen

Desirable

  • Certification such as ISTQB, PMP, or INCOSE
  • Prior experience in building frameworks, procedures and process documentation
  • Proven experience in validating hardware and software components within complex, integrated systems
  • Direct experience with V&V activities for autonomous site systems and autonomous vehicles
