Overview

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for a Director of Quality to oversee and integrate the quality and continuous improvement functions across the organization's multinational and multi-business unit operations. This role is responsible for working with a community ensuring that all practices meet company quality standards and to continue to improve upon the business’s product quality delivered to the customer and the efficiencies to produce these products.  The role will co-operatively define global strategies for quality management in line with overall division strategies.

   

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta or Tucson, Arizona 

Responsibilities

As our Director of Quality, responsibilities include: 

  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain a quality assurance program that guarantees all products and servies meet the required standards before reaching the customer or end-user.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control processes to monitor and test products and services continuously, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring consistency.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure that all business practices align with industry standards, such as ISO 9001, and that the company is prepared for audits and certifications.
  • Process Improvement: Utilize methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean to analyze processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency, thereby improving overall quality.
  • Customer Feedback:  In concert with Operations and Sales, establish systems for collecting and analyzing customer feedback to inform quality improvements and address any issues promptly.
  • Supplier Quality: In concert with Operations, work closely with suppliers to develop quality criteria for all incoming materials and services, conducting regular assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Project Quality: Support product development with project audits and product acceptance.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality procedures, standards, and records of compliance and non-compliance incidents.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement: Lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that quality remains a dynamic and integral part of the business strategy, including a process of communication and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

Must-Have:                        

  • Industry Expertise: A deep understanding of the quality, automotive quality and environmental standards. Minimum 10 years’ experience leading quality teams and projects.
  • Transformation Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading organizational transformations is crucial. The Director should have experience in implementing new standards at a site and achieving and maintaining certification to that standard.
  • Technical Understanding: The Director should have formal training as a quality auditor and the ability to interpret requirements within standards and effectively apply them within a business environment.

Nice-to-Have: 

  • Lean Six Sigma experience and certification
  • ASQ designation
  • Speak Spanish or/and Portuguese
