Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. You are a motivated engineer who is keen to grow your career and fulfill a vital role, collecting and analyzing real-world GNSS/INS data. Working closely with our Team Lead, Software Test Engineering, you will also join a cooperative global engineering community of practice. 

 

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This hybrid position is based in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As Software Test Engineer, your responsibilities include:

  • Implement and maintain tests and tools written in Python
  • Deploy and monitor tests in a continuous integration system
  • Collect and analyze real-world GNSS/INS data
  • Define functional and performance requirements, test cases, test specifications, and test design
  • Execute test runs, data analysis of results, and documentation of compliance to requirements
  • Troubleshoot test failures and investigate issues
  • Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and product managers

Qualifications

Must-Have:                      

  • Degree in Computer Science/Geomatics/Electrical/Software Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience including co-op experience will be considered. Newer graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience writing and debugging Python.
  • Strong data visualization and analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of GNSS.
  • Experience with:
    • Analyzing datasets using python libraries.
    • Test automation using Jenkins (CI/CD).
    • Source control using Git.
    • Polarion ALM for test management.
    • ASPICE V&V process areas.
    • GNSS simulator.
