Mining: Our mining technologies provide surveying, design, fleet management, production optimisation and collision avoidance capabilities in a single, life-of-mine solution that connects people and processes, reduces costs and improves the safety and productivity of mine sites.

 

Responsibilities

The Position

Reporting to our Vice President, Division General Counsel, and Division Compliance Officer based in the USA, and part of the global corporate services team, we seeking to recruit a In house Legal Counsel/Legal Secretary for Hexagon Mining APAC region. 

 

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing insightful, focused and risk based legal guidance that align commercially and strategically to key business objectives in addition resposnible for the maintaining of company registers, drafting resolutions and board minutes. 

 

You will be responsible for the development, drafting, review and negotiation of a broad range of complex commercial contractual agreements and government procurement transactions, working cohesively with key stakeholders, to provide, pragmatic, business-oriented solutions that manage both legal risk in alignment with driving positive impact on business growth.  

 

As part of a global leagl and compliance team, you will also collaborate cross functionally with our commercial, finance and HR leaders on improvement initiatives that align in region practises with our global corporate governance standards.

Qualifications

About you

 

We are seeking an experienced In house Counsel/Legal Counsel who is ready for the next step, where you can use your passion, knowledge and expertise in commercial and business legality by becoming an integral business partner within our leadership team, as we expand and grow in our business and operational efficiency.  

 

In addition we are seeking those with the following skills or attributes;

 

  • A Bachelor of law or Juris Doctor from an accredited university and license to practice in your governing jurisdiction
  • Background in corporate commercial companies, ideally in mining, technology, IT  software/service
  • Business Acumen: Ability to build comprehensive understanding of business alongside that of its commercial demands
  • Those with experience in a of sales lifecycle environment, with exposure to wide range of contractual models would be desired, not essential.  
  • Prior experience working in global business, with experience across international APAC region business markets would be desired, not essential, 
  • Ability to build collaborative culture within multiple stakeholder internal and external
  • Ability to lead and influence change in a positive and contributary delivery
  • Valid Australian Working rights – Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
