Overview

Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning is on the lookout for a proficient Full Stack Developer, who possesses over 5 years of hands-on experience in full stack development with a focus on AngularJS, .NET, and MS SQL technologies. Join our dynamic Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Team and play a pivotal role in the growth and enhancement of our MES Software.

 

As a member of the MES Team reporting to the Manufacturing Execution System Manager, you will be an integral part of our collaborative effort with key operational teams, including Production, Final Configuration, Order Management, and Manufacturing Process Engineering. Your task will be to provide support, implement improvements, and drive the expansion of our MES capabilities, which are critical to the success of the autonomous industry. This role presents an invigorating challenge where you can refine your design, coding, and application development skills, significantly impacting our global customer base and business partners as we advance through major projects and adhere to our strategic roadmap.

 

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As the Full Stack Developer, Your involvement in the MES Team will be crucial as we navigate the software development lifecycle, with a focus on delivering high-quality, microservice-based solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Architectural Involvement: Assist in defining and designing the architecture of MES Software, ensuring alignment with both technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Technical Contribution: Offer knowledgeable insights into MES software development projects, contributing to the creation of robust, scalable solutions.
  • Development: Construct sophisticated full-stack software applications utilizing Angular, .NET, and MS SQL, with a commitment to maintaining high code quality that is modular and scalable.
  • Optimization: Enhance applications for peak performance and scalability, tackling intricate challenges and architectural hurdles as needed.
  • Lifecycle Participation: Engage in every phase of development, from concept to deployment, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous advancement.
  • Collaborative Development: Work alongside team members to ideate on new products, share technical knowledge, and improve offerings through collaborative reviews.
  • MES Support: Aid in monitoring the manufacturing execution systems and resolve any associated manufacturing issues.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with at least 5 years of industry experience in full-stack development.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft .NET Core (3 and up), C#, Entity Framework, Javascript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, and competent with advanced ES6/ES7 JavaScript concepts and methods.
  • Experience in building web applications using client-side frameworks such as Angular and developing RESTful web services.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server with the ability to craft sophisticated queries.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming, design patterns, and agile-scrum methodology.
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps, Automated Testing, and CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins, uDeploy, etc.).
  • Comprehensive understanding of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Strong English language communication skills, both written and verbal.
