Hexagon is on the verge of changing the way the world works by taking autonomous and driver assistance technology where it has never been before.  You can be a part of this excitement as a field software developer within the Safety Critical Systems Engineering team, developing and supporting products that are defining and pioneering autonomous technology in the automotive industry.

 

This role has a focus on working closely with our customers to support integration and evaluation of emerging Hexagon products geared for automotive and safety critical applications, but includes other aspects of SW and product development such as defining and estimating design effort, assessing design tradeoffs, implementing and debugging software, and collecting and analyzing data.  You will collaborate with other members of the development team, as well as business development and field applications engineering to ensure the success of Hexagon and our customers.

 

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position can be home based in either Japan or the Republic of Korea. 

Responsibilities

As a Field Software Developer, responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop software for demonstration and evaluation of GNSS/INS positioning in autonomous applications
  • Work with automotive OEM and tier 1 customers remotely and on-site to integrate software onto customer platforms for prototypes and series intent programs
  • Analyze data to assess and improve product performance
  • Work with business development to support and inform customers on applications of Hexagon technology
  • Building technical relationships with customers and consulting customers to help them define requirements for their GNSS/INS projects

Qualifications

Must-Have:                       

  • B.Sc. or higher in Geomatics/Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English and either Japanese or Korean
  • Proficient writing code in C/C++
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work through teleconferencing and remote technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary and distributed team
  • Ability to travel within Asia and internationally
  • Japanese Class 1 / South Korean Level 2 driver’s license, or better

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of other programming languages; Python, Matlab, Perl, etc.
  • Proificient in English, Japanese and Korean
  • German language proficiency
  • Working experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience with safety or process standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, ASPICE
  • Knowledge of embedded systems
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
  • Knowledge of modelling languages; UML, SysML
  • Experience developing algorithms for GNSS and/or GNSS/INS positioning
  • Knowledge of filtering techniques (least squares, Kalman filtering, etc.)
