Senior Compliance Engineer

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Senior Compliance Engineer to join subject matter experts and play an essential role in our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. You will ensure our products meet stringent reliability, robustness, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. You are a highly organized, precise, motivated, confident, and a clear communicator.  Your technical competence will assist and oversee all facets of product development and lifecycle maintenance. You will use your experience with environmental compliance regulations to lead the global environmental processes and to support the A&P Materials SME corporate initiatives.

As a Senior Compliance Engineer, responsibilities include:

• Develop product compliance strategies and specifications for products, materials, components, markings, labeling, and testing to meet legal requirements
• Monitor global regulations especially those related to environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, TSCA, PoPs, ODS, etc.)
• Review and reporting of product level compliance for declarable substances (IPC-1754)
• Work with other compliance team members and the project teams to effectively and efficiently deliver compliance programs with a lead focus on global environmental requirements
• Understand product requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies, procedures and plans that ensure product compliance to Safety, EMC/EMI, and Environmental laws
• Provide EMC/EMI, Safety and Material regulation interpretation and testing expertise
• Engage with external test laboratories to manage material, substance, and composition evidence
• Assist in managing global certification processes, wireless regulations, safety certifications and type approvals
• Build, manage and maintain external lab relationships with technical service providers, laboratories, certification bodies (UL, CSA) and agencies

Must-Have:   

• Electrical engineering degree or electronics technology diploma or task related education
• 5+ years of product compliance understanding for consumer electronics
• Be skilled in hardware regulatory compliance standards for EMC, Safety, RF/wireless, and Material compliance
• Knowledge in IMDS, FMDs and EU REACH
• Excellent communication, teamwork skills and work ethic
