Electrical Harness Technician

We are looking for a Electrical Harness Technician to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader in tech. As an Electrical Harness Technician on our Platform Engineering Team, you will build reliable products to create autonomous research platforms used for real-world applications. Our technicians have the chance to expand their skills regularly. The vehicles that our Platform Integration Team builds are seen on a global scale.

This position is with Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions industry leaders rely on for assured positioning and autonomy on land, sea and air. Our work touches every aspect of life, from sustainability on Earth to enabling autonomy. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division your work will contribute to the operation of our brand AutonomouStuff. 


The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Morton, IL. 


As an Electrical Harness Technician, you will:

  • Perform hands on application of harnessing techniques for multiple platform by wire products and sensors
  • Create custom harnesses and cables while working closely with engineering on new product development
  • Provide support and back up for other members of department as needed
  • Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Participate in CI activities - processes, results, and cost savings
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry to support install teams
  • Complete technical self-study programs for career development
  • Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines.  Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions


Must Have:

  • Associates degree with a Technical focus OR 12+ months of related experience
  • Strong background in electronics
  • Understanding of electrical schematics

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hardware selection, placement, and harness routing
