Overview

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning (A&P) is looking for a tech-savvy and personable Field Application Engineer to help us drive our business forward by supporting some of the biggest names in the industry. In this exciting hands-on position, you will utilize your GNSS and Sensor Fusion expertise to ensure our customers’ success. Through the support of our Sales and Business Development teams, you will help to increase awareness of the company’s revolutionary technologies, consult on autonomy and positioning solutions for many exciting applications, and provide field and professional services to our worldwide customer base.

 

While part of a growing Global Core Support team, this position will have a strong focus on supporting our customers and some of the biggest names in the industry as they make the move toward autonomy through GNSS and related hardware and software technology. The team collaborates closely with Customers, Sales, Product Management, Project Management and Marketing to help ensure the cohesive and comprehensive delivery of products and materials. Our customers rely on Hexagon A&P’s industry leading technology when building their own solutions. This position is with Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions industry leaders rely on for assured positioning and autonomy on land, sea and air. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division, your work will contribute to the operation of our brands NovAtel, AutonomouStuff, VERIPOS and Antcom.

Responsibilities

As our Field Applications Engineer, you would be responsible for:

  • Provide product and application support on Hexagon A&P GNSS, INS and Autonomous Systems hardware, software to internal and external customers
  • Support the resolution of 2nd Tier customer support cases via email and phone
  • Provide customer training, demonstrations, technical assistance, and technical sales support
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding technical matters
  • Work closely with Sales / Business Development in accordance to the market needs and agreed priorities
  • Formulate and implementing procedures and plans for resolving problems
  • Perform software testing, verification, bug reports, and field trial coordination
  • Review technical documentation materials and manuals
  • Generate application notes for frequently asked questions and contributing to our internal and external knowledge base

Qualifications

Must-Have:                       

  • Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering degree or equivalent experience 
  • Experience working with Radar, LiDAR, and cameras as part of autonomous systems integration
  • Experience with automotive CAN bus systems and associated CAN log analysis tools
  • Familiar with drive-by-wire technology 
  • 3+ years of related technical industry experience
  • English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills 
  • Able and willing to travel internationally, up to 25% of the time
