Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Software Developer – Safety Critical Systems to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.  This role will be of interest to those seeking to be involved in the development of correction services which are enabling safety of life, automotive, and other autonomy applications.  The Safety Critical Systems team works within a process framework that requires the team to meet the objectives of standards and process models such as ASPICE PAM 3.1 and ISO 26262.  The successful candidate will be part of an exciting opportunity to develop services for highly accurate GNSS systems that are defining and advancing autonomous technology.

As a Software Developer - Safety Critical Systems, you will:

  • Develop and contribute to a production service that meets functional and performance requirements while satisfying functional safety requirements
  • Develop SW architecture, detailed design, and SW implementation
  • Perform SW integration and unit verification
  • Ensure software and product complies with ISO 26262 and ASPICE process models
  • Identify architecture and infrastructure problems and architect solutions in collaboration with stakeholders in the development groups
  • Contribute to design and optimization of GNSS integrity monitoring algorithms



  • B.Sc. or higher in Geomatics/Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Skillful with writing code in C/C++
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work through teleconferencing and remote technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary and distributed team

  • Experience with safety or process standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, ASPICE
  • Experience with safety focused operating systems (e.g. QNX)
  • Experience with low level server applications, networking, OS interaction, etc.
  • Knowledge of modelling languages; UML, SysML
  • Experience with software unit testing
  • Knowledge of other programming languages; Python, Matlab, etc.
  • Knowledge of filtering techniques (least squares, Kalman filtering, etc.)
  • Experience with GNSS
