Software Engineer

NovAtel is looking for a intermediate geomatics software engineer to join our GNSS Tracking team.  In this opportunity to join one of the leading GNSS receiver manufacturers in the world, you will work on the research and development of our world-class GNSS signal tracking technologies. Your previous experience, drive for innovation, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and methodical problem-solving approach will support ongoing business initiatives in our exciting high-tech environment and, most importantly, provide solutions and products for our customers’ GNSS tracking needs across a wide variety of applications.

As part of the Tracking team, the Geomatics Software Engineer will:

• Apply signal processing theory to develop and enhance NovAtel’s industry-leading tracking algorithms for performance improvements, new features and special applications.
• Collaborate with team members and others to identify new ideas and areas for investigation.
• Work with product managers and system engineers to define functional and performance requirements.
• Be a key member of the team to design, code and test software features for production releases. Improve and maintain existing C++ software.
• Analyze test data using graphical and statistical tools and methods.
• Work with verification engineers to plan and support testing of software features.
• Support development of the team’s skills through personal skills development, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge transfer.

Must-Have:

• Degree in geomatics engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-5 years of industrial experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of GNSS tracking theory and principles.
• Demonstrated experience in C++ software development, debugging and troubleshooting, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions to others.
