  • Overview

    As Software Director, you will be responsible for all Software and Firmware development across Hexagon Positioning Intelligence (PI).  You will have direct functional responsibility for the Product, Platform, Applications Development and Verification teams, and you will ensure that all PI teams follow the Architectural and Development / Verification processes that you define. 


    You have a passion for driving change and challenging assumptions while continuously improving how we develop our Software & Firmware.  You will be a strong advocate of one process for all teams.  You will work closely with the Hardware functional teams and the Chief Engineers to ensure that the optimal overall solution is found to best meet our customers’ needs.  You will develop and support your team so that they have all the expertise and knowledge needed to be successful and grow their careers.



    • Functional management of the Product, Platform, Software Verification, Applications Software teams
    • Budgeting, department and strategic planning
    • Develop, maintain, & improve the Software / Firmware development processes to continuously measure and improve quality and time-to-market
    • Develop, maintain, & improve the release planning and streaming strategies
    • Develop, maintain, & improve the Software Architecture across all domains
    • Oversight of Hexagon Positioning Intelligence India development team
    • Collaborate with other functional leaders to optimize overall product development and customer satisfaction
    • Ensure key performance metrics for our Software are maintained and improved
    • Support employee career development by effectively balancing development opportunities with short and long-term requirements




    • B.Sc. in Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of related experience, including 10+ years in an engineering functional management role
    • Deep understanding and knowledge of real time embedded firmware development methodologies including agile and release planning
    • Proven experience in driving Embedded Software/Firmware process improvements and adoption within large organizations. 
    • Proven experience managing multiple teams, including multi-site global development
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
    • Must be able to achieve Controlled Goods and Reliability level security status


    • An understanding and strong working knowledge of GNSS receivers and the integration and use of GNSS enabled systems in end products/applications.
    • Experience in the development of certified or functional safety software.
    • ASPICE and ISO26262 experience or equivalent.
