  • Overview

    As the Manufacturing Test Team Lead within a progressive high-technology electronics manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership to a technical team that delivers complete manufacturing test solutions as part of overall manufacturing process development activities. This newly created leadership position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering.


    NovAtel designs and manufactures high precision, high reliability GNSS products for a variety of industries including agriculture, survey, defense, and autonomous vehicles.  The Manufacturing Test team works closely with an industry leading product development team focused on successfully bringing product to Market.  The Manufacturing Test team is responsible for providing world-class Manufacturing Test Solutions that enable our Production team to deliver these products to customers on-time and with very high reliability.


    • Accelerate time-to-market of new products through effective Project Management of test development activities and deliverables to meet critical project schedules
    • Coordinate the development of sound and efficient test development approaches for new products that utilize the existing core infrastructure and meet requirements for test yield, test time, and test coverage.
    • Lead the Manufacturing Test development process and drive process improvements based on Key Performance Measures (i.e. First Pass Yield, Test Times, Test Uptime, Test Coverage.)
    • Remove roadblocks by working directly and collaboratively with the other functional domain owners (HW, SW, Mechanical and Systems)
    • Lead the strategic direction for Manufacturing Test and work collaboratively with Manufacturing Process Engineering leadership to define the strategic direction for Manufacturing Process Engineering as a whole
    • Motivate, inspire, and develop team members to ensure they are performing at the highest level.
    • Regularly provide performance feedback to employees and complete semi-annual performance reviews.



    • Post-secondary degree in a technical field, preferably Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years experience working in a high-tech electronics manufacturing environment
    • Experience working in concurrent New Product Introduction (NPI)
    • Ability to mentor and develop technical staff
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proven project-management skills
