  • Overview

    As Senior Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering within a progressive high-technology electronics manufacturing organization, you will have overall responsibility for providing leadership to the Manufacturing Process Engineering team including: Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Test, Manufacturing Automation, Build Services, and Manufacturing Support.  In addition, you will be directly responsible for leading Manufacturing Infrastructure development initiatives. This newly created strategic leadership position reports to the VP, Operations.

     

    NovAtel designs and manufactures high precision, high reliability GNSS products for a variety of industries including agriculture, survey, defense, and autonomous vehicles.  The Manufacturing Process Engineering (MPE) team works closely with an industry leading product development team focused on successfully bringing product to Market.  The (MPE) team is responsible for providing world-class Manufacturing Solutions that enable our Production team to deliver these products to customers on-time and with very high reliability.

     

    Responsibilities

    As Senior Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering you will be responsible to:

    • Set a clear vision for the Manufacturing Process Engineering team and develop strategic and operational initiatives that drive the team toward that vision
    • Accelerate time-to-market of new products through proactively managing process development activities to meet critical project schedules.
    • Ensure only high-yielding, highly reliable manufacturing solutions that meet takt/cycle time targets are transferred to production
    • Lead process development activities and drive process improvements based on Key Performance Measures (i.e. First Pass Yield, pre-production build times, component supply performance, resourcing/efficiency, etc.)
    • Collaboratively set the technology roadmap for contract manufacturing of SMT technology products at Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers
    • Provide leadership to managers/team leaders who are responsible for the tactical management of their functions
    • Work cooperatively with Engineering and Operations leadership to ensure strategies and processes are aligned resulting in highly manufacturable and reliable products
    • Maintain an effective organization structure with a focus on people development
    • Proactively manage the Business Continuity Risk of the entire manufacturing infrastructure

     

    Qualifications

    Must-Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • Minimum 10 years of technical managerial experience
    • Experience leading teams in a high-tech electronics manufacturing environment
    • Experience working in concurrent New Product Introduction (NPI)
    • Proven ability to mentor and develop a broad spectrum of technical staff
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proven project-management skills
