  • Overview

     As the User Interface Designer for Hexagon Positioning Intelligence (Hexagon PI), you will be a creative thinker who can conceptualise software application user interface design across multiple, diverse product lines.

    As part of a wider product development group, you will work closely with marketing, engineering and product management to transfer functional and user requirements into wireframes and interaction flows, as well as create high quality mock-ups and artefacts that can be transformed into intuitive, and functional user interfaces.

    This is a multi-faceted and challenging role with the opportunity to contribute and influence all stages of the user interface and user experience design process across our software application product line.


    Hexagon Positioning Intelligence is part of the Hexagon Group and includes NovAtel, Antcom and Veripos.


    • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
    • Execute all user interface design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
    • Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex engineering solutions
    • Create wireframes, storyboards, user and process flows to effectively communicate interaction and design solutions
    • Present visual concepts, user interface prototypes and design solutions to stakeholders
    • Participate in user research and evaluate user feedback
    • Participate in the creation of and promotion of design guidelines, best practices and standards
    • Participate in the definition and execution of visual strategy across our software applications portfolio
    • Assist in the creation of user guides and tutorials
    • Occasional international travel to collaborate with other Hexagon PI offices



    • 3+ years’ experience in a UI/Visual design role
    • Direct involvement with interface between software development lifecycle and user interface design
    • Demonstrable experience of past projects; presented as a portfolio of work
    • Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Balsamiq, or equivalent visual design and wire-framing tools
    • Excellent visual design skills with an understanding of user interaction
    • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies

    • Experience working with remote development teams
    • Appreciation for software development process and lifecycle
    • Knowledge of GNSS applications and industry
