As Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer, reporting to the V&V team lead, you will influence business success by applying your extensive background and expertise in testing strategies within a high tech industry. Your work will impact all phases of the product development and deployment lifecycle.  You will lead planning activities and deliverables for ongoing release cycles; supporting new and existing products; carry out tasks and activities across the product verification teams located in Calgary and possibly Michigan.  


  • Carry out validation and verification plans for Safety Critical Systems products.
  • Implement and document effective processes to enable robust validation and verification of products.
  • Execution of tests using manual and automated methods for both software and hardware.
  • Establish test case traceability to requirements and specifications.
  • Develop test specifications, test reports, test metrics and validation protocols for integration and performance testing.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering to define and deliver testing and integration strategies
  • Executing test deliverables across Product Verification teams in Calgary and possibly Michigan.
  • Support testing done across the hardware, software and systems disciplines to ensure new products meet or exceed their quality goals.
  • Coordination of testing across the various engineering disciplines to reduce duplication and ensure there are no coverage gaps.
  • Collaborate with other team members to set up and execute technology demonstrations to existing and potential new customers.



  • Post-secondary degree in a technical field, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering.
  • 1+ years of automotive industry experience
  • 3+ years experience in a high technology manufacturing environment.
  • C/C++ software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Validation and Verification role within cross functional development teams.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% (mostly North America, possibly international)

  • An understanding of real time operating systems and embedded firmware development 
  • Understanding of signal processing algorithms
  • Past experience with testing, test automation and troubleshooting 
  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS technology
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Software test tool development experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262/ASPICE PAM 3.0
