As Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer, reporting to the V&V team lead, you will influence business success by applying your extensive engineering background and expertise in software testing strategies within a high-tech industry. Your work will impact all phases of the product development and deployment lifecycle.  You will support planning activities and deliverables for ongoing release cycles; supporting an exciting new range products; carry out tasks and activities across the product verification teams located in Calgary. 


  • Execute test deliverables in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and our global customer base.
  • Develop validation and verification plans for Safety Critical Systems products.
  • Develop test specifications, test reports, test metrics and validation protocols for integration and performance testing.
  • Implement and document effective processes to enable robust validation and verification of software products.
  • Execute tests using automated and manual verification methods for both software and hardware.
  • Establish test case traceability to requirements and specifications.
  • Support testing done across the hardware, software and systems disciplines to ensure new products meet or exceed their performance and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with other team members to set up and execute technology demonstrations to existing and potential new customers.
  • Conduct occasional dynamic testing of GPS/GNSS technology.



  • Post-secondary degree in a technical field, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering.

  • Validation and Verification experience within a cross functional development team environment.

  • Software test tool development experience (including use of C/C++, Python, LabView).

  • 5+ years of experience in a high technology manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS technology

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to travel approximately 10% (mostly North America, possibly international)

  • An understanding of real time operating systems and embedded firmware development 
  • Understanding of signal processing algorithms
  • Knowledge of, or some experience in, the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262/ASPICE PAM 3.0
