Overview

As a Strategy Analyst at Hexagon Positioning Intelligence (Hexagon PI) you will be instrumental in establishing the strategy of one of the world's most innovative and respected positioning systems providers. You will help to craft and measure long-term corporate strategy that achieves growth targets, strengthens the company and it's employees, and outpaces its rivals. You will ensure that the strategy is clearly communicated to stakeholders, and that the strategy is lived through all levels and areas of this diverse company. Hexagon PI is committed to establishing a long-term strategy that is used to guide the company’s direction and decision-making throughout the organization and to ultimately return results for the company, its employees and shareholders.

 

You will work as part of the Hexagon PI strategy team, responsible for managing and evolving the corporate strategy processes, tools and communication. Corporate strategy formulation and execution involves a wide cross-section of the company, so the Strategy Analyst role will interface with individuals across all disciplines and of varying seniority, up to and including the C-suite. You will gain a deep understanding of the company and its industry and market landscape, and use this experience to facilitate the creation and execution of the PI strategic plan. You will share responsibility for championing the strategic plan both within and outside of the company. The Strategy Analyst will also be responsible for tracking execution of the strategic plan through progress against strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Reporting to our Cheif Strategy Officer, the Strategy Analyst is responsible for:

  • Facilitating strategic planning activities at multiple levels in the company (corporate, business area, departmental) through:
    • facilitation and participation in planning meetings
    • collection and dissemination of strategic planning inputs
    • review and delivery of constructive feedback of strategic plan drafts and revisions
    • maintenance of the strategic plan artifacts
  • Providing oversight of the management of the strategic plan through:
    • Ensuring strategic plan monitoring is being executed appropriately by removing any roadblocks, improving processes, procedures and tools as necessary
    • Facilitating plan status review meetings
  • Participating in making the strategic plan understood and accepted by Hexagon PI internal and external stakeholders
    • Identifying key messages for each stakeholder group
    • Proposing the best methods of reaching stakeholders with the right information
  • Working independently or as part of a small team to advise senior management on strategic topics facing the business through rigorous, fact-based research and analysis
  • Continually searching for and proposing ways of making the PI strategic planning and execution processes more efficient and effective
  • Building strong relationships throughout all functional areas of the company and at varying levels of seniority up to the executive level
  • Participating in identification of acquisition targets and due diligence activities
  • Other related activities as assigned

Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Technical or business-focused Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a technology or business leadership role in GNSS, or similar tech industry
  • Practical business experience with a strong understanding of technology/business project management process
  • Experience in managing strategy and process creation, deployment and monitoring
  • Proven ability to plan and execute complex and cross-functional initiatives

Key Success Factors:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfort presenting in front of groups and facilitating meetings and group discussions with diverse groups, including senior executives
  • Innate problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with financial analysis tools
  • Well-versed in financial and non-financial metrics 
  • MBA would be an asset
