Reporting to the Manufacturing Process Development Manager, the NPI Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all NPI responsibilities related to ongoing projects. As a member of the Manufacturing Process Engineering (MPE) team you will work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Supply Chain and Production to effectively plan and complete deliverables.


The Manufacturing Process Engineering (MPE) team goal is to deliver complete manufacturing solutions exceeding customer expectations for product quality and delivery. This role is responsible to accelerate time to market of highly manufacturable and sustainable products.


  • Develop detailed project plans for the MPE activities and collaborate with the Product Development (PD) Project Managers to incorporate into overall Project Plan
  • Coordinate MPE team to ensure deliverables needed to support product development are met
  • Coordinate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and product level Prototype and Pilot builds at contract manufacturers and on Novatel’s shop floor
  • Assess Project changes impact on the MPE work, assess impact to schedule, cost and deliverables. Support PD Project Managers to update project plan
  • Effectively communicate MPE Deliverable progress and work collaboratively with team to address risks
  • Maintain product forecast information and work effectively with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to ensure all necessary material is purchased to support planned product builds both at Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and NovAtel
  • Develop and maintain an accurate Proto and Pilot Product build plan and communicate changes
  • Continuously Improve related processes and practices



Must Have:


  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in high technology manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of New Product Introduction
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated and experience with Process Development for high technology products and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, including technical writing of Tradeoff and Whitepaper reports
  • Computer skills (MS Office, MS Project)
  • Experience working in a Continuous Improvement environment
