You can be a part of this excitement as a Geomatics Engineer within the Safety Critical Systems Engineering team developing and implementing products that are defining and pioneering autonomous and driver’s assistance technology. 

This role includes all aspects of product development such as creating robust and complete requirements, defining and estimating design effort, researching various technologies to enhance Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) positioning, detailed design tradeoffs, and performing verification activities. This position is very hands-on and well-rounded which presents a tremendous amount of career opportunities. You will pro-actively interact with the other functions of the development team to ensure that the design meets its, functional, safety, quality, schedule and cost targets. Working closely with the hardware design team, signal tracking team, software developer teams and verification team; collaboratively we will take new product ideas from concept to production.

Responsibilities

  • Development and enhancement of safety critical GNSS positioning and augmentation algorithms including requirements capture, architecture design, integrity analysis, algorithm development, coding, verification, tracing and final validation.
  • Model algorithms to assess critical attributes and trade-offs.
  • Real world testing and analysis of data
    • Collection of real world GNSS/INS data
    • Detailed and methodical analysis of data
  • Develop and contribute to a product that exceeds functional safety requirements while being optimized for high performance (accuracy, availability, integrity).
  • Ensure product conforms to ISO 26262 and 16949 certifications.

Qualifications

Must-Have:                       

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Geomatics/Electrical/Software Engineering with 5+ years of industrial experience
  • Knowledge of GNSS/INS systems and filtering techniques (least squares, Kalman filtering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems and reference frames
  • Understanding of probability and statistical testing
  • Comfortable writing code in C/C++
  • Comfortable collecting GNSS/INS data in real world conditions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Experience with ISO 26262 and/or DO-178B,C/DO-254 programs
  • Working experience in the automotive industry
