Overview

NovAtel is looking for an Incoming Quality Control Specialist to join our growing IQC/Materials team. As part of a team, this role will support manufacturing with all incoming inspection/receiving and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions relating to supplier quality issues.  They will also be responsible for leading process improvement initiatives with Critical Suppliers.

Responsibilities

As our Incoming Quality Control Specialist, you would be responsible for:

  • Receiving and inspecting materials from suppliers and contract manufacturers, and delivering to inventory physically and logically
  • Defining, documenting and deploying product quality plans, inspection plans and metrics for new products
  • Monitoring supplier and product performance to ensure products and processes meet requirements
  • Coordinating and leading root cause analysis and corrective action with cross-functional teams and suppliers, relating to process and product quality concerns identified during inspection or in the field
  • Maintaining and improving systems for measuring and reporting suppliers quality performance
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Must-Have: 

Degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quality assurance or a related field
Experience working in an Incoming Quality Control role to support manufacturing
Sound knowledge of statistics and demonstrated ability to perform detailed analysis of data
Proven problem solving and organizational skills

Nice-to-Have: 

Experience with plastics, metal and electronic components
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP system, such as Syteline
