Overview

Antcom, a wholly owned subsidiary of NovAtel and part of the Hexagon Group, is an industry leader that excels in designing, developing and manufacturing a wide range of antennas and microwave products for a variety of industries including: surveying, agricultural, aviation, military, telecom and more.  We are currently searching for a highly motivated Chief Engineer who will drive our antenna products portfolio to ensure we maintain a leadership position in our key market segments.  Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing a strategic product plan and roadmap, and providing technical guidance and direction to a team of engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities as a Chief Engineer include:

  • Develop and present new product roadmaps and strategies that address customer needs
  • Drive the product roadmaps effectively by effective planning and prioritizing of resources to meet customer requirements
  • Design, develop and test antennas and LNAs using robust design practices and cost effective strategies
  • Create design documentation for new and existing antenna and LNA designs
  • Diagnose malfunctions in existing products and make improvements or modifications to increase product reliability
  • Support Sales and Marketing with product recommendations, new design suggestions, and RFQ technical assistance
  • Perform technical report writing which may include proposals, reports, test procedures and specifications
  • Work with our parent company’s R&D team on the implementation of common processes and best practices to ensure that Antcom continuously improves it effectiveness

Qualifications

Must-Have:                       

  • A Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in RF and antenna systems design and development
  • Experience with antenna and RF test equipment and software
  • Experience in 3D simulations of RF and antenna structures (eg HSFF)
  • Knowledge in regulatory requirements and qualification processes (FCC, CE)
  • Knowledgeable in material/mechanical engineering
  • A consistent track record of delivering successful products to market
  • Must be a US person and be able to obtain the required security clearances

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with low profile antennas
  • GNSS fundamentals
  • Project management experience and a PMP designation
  • Experience working in surveying, aviation, military and telecom industries
  • Experience with FAA certification procedures
  • Knowledge of robustness standards (MIL-STD-810G, IEC)
