NovAtel’s Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for developing exceptionally safe, robust, and reliable in-house automated manufacturing solutions. These solutions enable our production team and EMS providers to meet world-class product quality and on-time delivery targets.

As part of this established team you are responsible for updating and enhancing the core automation software used to develop custom manufacturing automation solutions.  The existing core automation software already supports the manufacturing of thousands of GNSS products per year at a very high quality level. Your updates to the core automation software will enable NovAtel to meet customer demands as we move into automotive markets with exponentially higher volumes and quality requirements.

This is a new position where you will apply background and expertise in architecture and software development to lead the updates to the core automation software to reduce the amount of custom development required for new products. 



  • Lead the updates to the core automation software architecture that limits the amount of software development required for new products
  • Using the latest version of Visual Studio, prime the design and development in C++ of the automation software structure in conjunction with other team members
  • Design, develop and execute unit tests for the automation software structure
  • Document the automation software structure so that it can be easily used by other team members when adding new products
  • Convert existing automation software to the new structure
  • Maintain the automation software structure by making updates as necessary and ensure all updates to the structure by other team members fits the architecture
  • Control the review, and release process of the core automation software using up to date Perforce and Collaborator tools



  • BSc. in Computer Science or Software/Computer Engineering
  • 5 years experience in a SW Development role
  • Wide variety of experience using and/or designing various software architectures
  • Stong C++ software development skills
